Observance Shift: 3 - Down

Our tierce call was to the local council land for a middle senesced adult male who was, seemingly, feeling down and self. Nowadays I like psychiatric affected roles. Mayhap it’s because I’m a spot buggy excessively, but I appear to have a sure phylogenetic relation with them and oft encounter myself having retentive, careworn extinct confabs with them on quiet dark shifts.

We pealed the intercommunication system and Raymond, our patient, unhurriedly let us in. Taciturnly, he waved us into his bedroom, foundered on to the bottom and suspired. I wasn’t surprised he was down; his bedroom was one of the most uncheerful spots I have of all time been in. Paries varnished nicotine brown, carpet pasty, article of furniture ancient, it was badly in need of a brand all over.

“So, Raymond, what appears to be the job today?” informated Steve pleasantly.

“I’m feeling very down,” told Raymond in a flat drone. “Drawn extinct and vile. I shouldn’t be here. I need to be in a home. With citizenry seeming after me.”

“Good, I’m afraid we can’t occupy you to a home,” told Steve. “Do you want to go to A+E? Or have you been an inmate at a psychiatric hospital earlier? We can get through them and realise if they will occupy you back?”

“I don’t want to go to A+E,” snivelled Raymond. “They can’t do anything for me. And you have to sit down there for 60 minutes. And I’ve been in the psychiatric hospital overly. I don
