The McNamara Report on Inside Digital Photo with Michael J. McNamara

This week’s topic: Color management: Don’t leave home without it.

High-end color calibration and profiling tools used to cost a pretty penny and required an learning curve that few photographers had time to deal with. But new calibration and profiling tools such as the X-Rite Colormunki Photo and DataColor’s Spyder 3 are available for less than a decent 13×19-inch printer or 24-inch monitor. They can create profiles for monitors and printers, they’re portable, easier to use than ever, and might pay for themselves in ink and paper savings in no time. But that is the best choice for your work flow and color demands?
